It MAY be a possibility that we might use some of the money we’ve saved up to make one of these positions a contract position, but we’re hesitant to do that, we’re looking for someone who’s as passionate about this project as we are, so if the only reason you’re coming into this is for money then we need to talk more!

Otherwise for now, these are like internship positions and unpaid. Rest assured, no one here at GeeksNGamers is being paid a dime, yet. We don’t even have money to get some of the things we really need to speed up this project!

Advanced JavaScript Programmer
Responsibilities & Skills Required:

  • Working with Chris, our Lead Artist/UX Designer in creating JavaScript to interface between the front end and the User. (Making flashy effects on the UI side like sliding boxes, handing query requests, expand effects)
  • Knowledge and recent experience on another website doing this sort of thing.
  • Confidence with JQuery, AJAX, css, html
  • Skype and willingness to use it
  • English
  • Ability to turn design concepts into code.
  • Most Importantly: A passion for Gaming, Geekdom, or Programming or all of the above.

Web Designer / Web Themes Creator
 Responsibilities & Skills Required:

  • Work with me (John) to unify our identity across all our mediums and social media.
  • Create, manage, and manipulate our art assets from Chris or your own efforts to help us theme our Tumblr, Wordpress, and various other portals.
  • Strong grasp of css, html, php required.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, Ajax, JQuery
  • Most Importantly: A passion for Gaming, Geekdom, or Programming or all of the above.

Social Media Assistant / Future Social Media Manager
 Responsibilities & Skills Required:

  • Work with me (John) to handle all our social media including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube, etc and finding new channels to create a presence and foster and nurture an open community for all Geeks & Gamers
  • Patience to do all of the above
  • Willingness to do administrative work (we all have to do it and right now we’re overloaded): like formatting submissions from our user base, writing updates and articles (like this one), sorting through documentation.
  • Expert grasp of English, knows that alot is not a word, the difference between there, their, and they’re, etc.
  • Willingness to possibly eventually take over the role of Manager (I’ll eventually be too busy to head up this part).
  • Creativity to seek out new outlets and use each medium to greatest effect and potential.
  • MUST BE FRIENDLY, OPEN, and somewhat a Jack/Jill of All Trades.
  • Most Importantly: A passion for Gaming, Geekdom, or Programming or all of the above.
  • (Having some knowledge in programming would be a huge plus but not required and on the same vein a female touch would be nice for this position).
